What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help websites work and provide information to site owners. We use a minimal, privacy-respecting set.
The cookies we set
- Essential — keep you signed in, remember your basket and protect against fraud (e.g. session, cart and consent cookies, a short-lived
lp_challengecookie while you enter an email code, and anlp_devicecookie for devices you choose to trust for 30 days). These are always on because the site can't work without them; they don't track you across other websites. - Security (reCAPTCHA) — when you use the sign-in, registration, password reset, contact or checkout forms, Google reCAPTCHA checks the request isn't from a bot. This is strictly necessary to keep accounts and payments secure, so it isn't controlled by the cookie banner.
- Preferences — remember choices such as showing prices inc or ex VAT.
- Embedded maps (optional) — the map showing our Chingford shop is provided by Google Maps. It loads only if you choose “Accept all” or press “Show map”, and Google may then set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy.
We store your cookie choice in a first-party cookie (lps-cookie-consent) so we don't ask again on every visit. We do not use analytics, advertising, marketing or social-media tracking cookies.
Visitor statistics without cookies
We count visits with our own statistics, which store nothing on your device — no cookies or similar technology — and never keep your IP address. Your device, browser and approximate country are recorded with an anonymous visitor code that changes every day. See the Visitor statistics section of our Privacy Policy for the details.
Your choice & consent
When you first visit, non-essential cookies stay off until you opt in. Rejecting is as easy as accepting. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, or clear cookies in your browser to be asked again.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect how the site works, including the shopping basket.
